Roots and Wings Surface Pressure

Roots and Wing's Ministry Outings

Ministry Outings are the heartbeat of our creative work.  We do, of course, enjoy performing at home for family and friends, but every part of every show is planned with our ministry outing audiences in mind.  Every set is able to break down and travel.  We attempt to get as much audience interaction and participation as possible so they feel immersed in the message.  We have had the great privilege of visiting Assisted Living Facilities, Homeless Shelters, Boys and Girls Clubs, Kroc Centers, Disabled Adults Daycare, and Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities.  At each outing, we are graciously ministered to and receive just as much or more than we give.

"Service is what prayer looks like when it gets up off its knees and walks around in the world."

The kids were so sweet and such a joy to perform for.

I loved talking to the residents and getting to know them.

We were so encouraged listening to the powerful testimonies of how God was moving in the lives of these men.

I love the Roots and Wings ministry because it gives my kids the opportunity to be mission minded and others focused. It is a joy to take the gospel out into the community together.

We really enjoyed interacting with the residents after the show drinking hot chocolate and playing Bingo.

I played Satan in our Jesus Theatre, Bounce, and many of the children were afraid of me, so I didn't get a lot of positive interactions. But at the Girls and Boys club, they came right up to me asking questions and wanting to touch my costume. They asked me about Satan and how Jesus defeated him and how he offers us new life. It was so sweet and powerful.
